At Magnolia Hotel & Spa, creating an authentic Victoria experience is at the heart of everything we do. As a luxury boutique hotel in downtown Victoria, we believe the details matter - from the locally sourced products featured in our guest rooms to the carefully curated design elements found throughout the property. One of the most impactful ways we bring a sense of place into the guest experience is through the art we select for the hotel.

As part of our recent Diamond Room renovations, Magnolia Hotel & Spa partnered with Victoria artist Donna Anderson to create a collection of original artworks inspired by the natural beauty of Vancouver Island. Guests staying in our newly renovated Diamond Rooms will discover a unique, signed piece in each room, thoughtfully selected to compliment the refined elegance and coastal character that define the Magnolia experience.

Drawing inspiration from the ever-changing landscapes of the West Coast, Anderson’s work captures the mood, movement, and texture of life on Vancouver Island. Using layers of acrylics and gels, she creates depth and dimension that evoke misty horizons, dramatic skies, rugged shorelines, and coastal forests. The result is artwork that feels both contemporary and timeless, an ideal reflection of Victoria’s unique blend of urban sophistication and natural beauty.

For many visitors, experiencing local art is an important part of discovering a destination. By showcasing original works from a Victoria artist, we’re able to bring the spirit of the region directly into our guest rooms while supporting the local creative community. Each piece serves as a reminder of the landscapes just beyond our doors, from the shores of the Salish Sea to the forests and mountains that make Vancouver Island such a remarkable place to explore.

As renovations continue throughout the hotel, we look forward to expanding our collaboration with Donna Anderson and introducing additional original works throughout the property. Once complete, every guest room at Magnolia Hotel & Spa will feature its own unique piece of art, allowing each room to celebrate the beauty, creativity, and character of Vancouver Island.
