Building on its long-standing accreditation with Green Key, the hotel achieved Biosphere Certification in March 2024, prestigious recognition awarded to businesses that demonstrate a sustained commitment to sustainable practices and continue to evolve in their efforts.

Sustainability Within the Hotel’s Walls
The hotel management and employees are dedicated to minimizing its environmental footprint and operating with sustainability at the forefront.
- Responsibly manage the environmental impacts of the business
- Reduce energy and water consumption through efficiency and best practices
- Installed a new HVAC energy-efficient model, replacing the previous system, and reducing the hotel’s carbon footprint by 76%
- Regular reviews of energy use and consumption to determine areas of improvement
- Guests are encouraged to support these efforts by re-using their linens and towels
- Minimize waste and pollution
- Guests and employees have access to house-bottled, filtered water, reducing single use bottled water
- Six electric vehicle parking spots have charging stations to encourage electric vehicle travel
- Responsibly recycling of Nespresso pods
- Comply with all applicable environmental regulations
- Responsible disposal of batteries and electronic waste
- Environmental factors are always considered in purchasing decisions
- The Courtney Room fosters partnerships with local farmers, food and beverage suppliers to ensure its environmental footprint stays as local as possible
- The Courtney Room offers metal straws for guests to reduce the use of plastic
- Engage guests in reducing their own environmental impact
- Guests may decline housekeeping services or choose to re-use linens
- Guests at Magnolia Hotel & Spa have an opportunity to discover the surrounding areas on foot or bicycles (offered complimentary at the hotel) by following the hotel’s series of Curated Trail maps
- The hotel team is ready to recommend sustainable tourism operators and local eateries
Community Commitments
Building a strong community requires collective effort. Both within the property and beyond, the hotel team actively seeks opportunities to engage staff and foster a sense of connection and spirit throughout the community.
