August 1st-31st
Home to one of the largest wine regions in British Columbia, the Cowichan Valley hosts 13 unique wineries, and this month-long festival is the perfect time to visit your favourite or try something new! Here’s how it works – purchase your ticket digitally and take it to any of the participating wineries starting August 1. The winery staff will exchange your proof of purchase for your festival passport and tasting glass, then sip, sip away! Collect a stamp at each of the wineries you visit for the chance to win a grand prize!
August 2nd-3rd
Head down to the Inner Harbour on the August long weekend and enjoy this free outdoor orchestral concert! Featuring 4 major concerts family-friendly activities, local food and performances by Victoria Symphony and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, Symphony Splash is sure to please music lovers of all ages. Best of all, most events are free to attend!

Located along the beautiful Gorge Waterway, this farmer’s market offers visitors a wide selection of local artisan products to peruse, twice nightly musical performances and a selection of delicious local food trucks!
4. Lavender Festival at Bilston Creek Farms
Saturdays through Tuesdays in August
Take in the full lavender bloom at Bilston Creek Farms this August! Enjoy live music, workshops, artisan snacks, farm tours and more! See the lavender fields in full bloom and see the barn transform with floor to ceiling drying lavender.
5. Canada Dry Victoria Dragon Boat Festival
August 8th-9th
Presented by Canada Dry and Fairway Market, the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival is a celebration of local culture, and Victoria’s important connection to the Chinese Community. Watch the signature dragon boat races in the Inner Harbour and enjoy one-of-a-kind cultural activities, performances, food and more! This event is free to attend.
6. Phillips Backyard Music Festival
August 8th-10th
A favourite amongst music loving Victorians, Phillips Backyard is an eclectic outdoor music festival held at Phillips Brewery! Soak up some sun and enjoy live music, craft beer and local eats. This year’s headliners include The Roots and Peach Pit!
August 20th-31st
A Victoria traditional for over 30 years, the Victoria Fringe Festival runs for 12 days and showcases a wide range of local and international talent. Enjoy a mix of musicals, dance, magic, spoken word, drama and even kid-friendly shows across downtown Victoria!
