October 30, 2006 – East meets West: European Luxury and Asian Cuisine
(Victoria, British Columbia) - Magnolia Hotel & Spa, Victoria’s four-diamond, European-style luxury boutique hotel, is celebrating their completely transformed restaurant with a Gourmet Getaway package.
The former Hugo’s Grill has undergone an alteration from the ground up with an interior redesign, all new management, and a hip new pan Asian menu created by Cordon Bleu trained chef, Patrick Lynch. To pay homage to the transformation, the restaurant has been renamed Sanuk, a Thai word that roughly translates to "joy of life".
Braised Pork Belly with Ginger Beer and Apple Compote or Sri Lankan Fish Laksa in a Coconut Curry are just a few of the succulent new menu choices. Desserts selections include eastern and western choices, drawing on Chef Lynch’s classical French training, as well as evocative of his Asian travels.
The Magnolia Hotel is infused with European elegance. Attention to detail and service is evident everywhere, with complimentary continental breakfast, fresh flowers and fruit in the lobby, Aveda™ bathroom products, gourmet coffee, and spring water in the rooms. Guest rooms feature downtown or harbour views, and a two-poster bed dressed in deluxe duvets, feather pillows, and crisp linens, which are turned down nightly. Reflective of the luxury throughout, bathrooms are marble clad, with deep soaker tub and separate glassed in showers. Many rooms also feature a fireplace.
Victoria, Canada’s garden city, is full of world-class attractions, museums, arts and entertainment, shopping, gourmet food, and outdoor adventures. After a day in the city, the Magnolia serves complimentary afternoon coffee, tea, and hot apple cider in the lobby.
